Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his unique mix of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. She has performed on Broadway as well as during the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine's given name is Denise White. Her birthplace is Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career singing and playing the piano in the church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on the Atlanta's R&B musical scene. She became the primary pianist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) approached her for an opportunity to be the choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was noticed by the nation during daily performances of four at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine followed up with being invited to sing for the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
